SAGA Charitable Trust

Brief

Type of projects: education, training, healthcare and income generation
Location: developing countries that host Saga holidaymakers
Grant range: up to £20,000

Our policy is not simply to donate money, but to invest in sustainable projects that will empower and support local communities into the future.

We passionately believe in giving something back to communities in developing countries that welcome Saga guests. We do this by supporting projects that bring health and welfare benefits, providing the skills and opportunities for communities to become self-sufficient and ultimately to help break the cycle of poverty.

The Trust funds four key areas: education, training, healthcare and income generation. By working closely with local communities we are able to identify programmes that will make a real and sustainable difference.

Since 1985 we have supported a variety of projects in 17 countries across 5 continents. A selection of our completed and ongoing projects can be viewed in detail in the projects section. The Trust is in a unique position to tap into a worldwide network of holiday business partners and staff, who all help to support our work and importantly, ensure transparency and accountability.

We accept applications for funding all year round, and detailed guidelines on how to apply can be accessed through the link below. We encourage applicants to pay particular attention to the need for the project to be sustainable, and to be located in a place visited by Saga holidaymakers. We are happy to answer questions and talk through proposals, please contact Sarah on 01303 774069 should you wish to do so.
