Social enterprises are tacking big social, economic and environmental challenges in Kenya. As for-profit businesses with a focus on impact, they have specific needs over and above those of traditional businesses. This argues for a policy framework that supports social enterprises overcome barriers they face in the market – access to capital, access to market, business support, talent and training. The session will focus on challenges and opportunities in the space, and what is needed to create an enabling ecosystem for sustainable enterprises.
