Defined as “A network of internet-connected objects able to collect and exchange data using embedded sensors”
-Business Insider
With the advent of the internet, many groundbreaking technological advancements have come about. It is expected that by the year 2020, there will be a whopping 24 billion IoT devices on earth, which makes it to about 4 devices per person! This interesting migration of IoT devices raises a series of interesting questions in our globalised world.
The panel will cover areas around:
- The different gaps & opportunities found in the field of IoT that can be seen in Kenya (Africa)
- How human-centered growth in an age of transformative technology has impacted our society
- How has the steady rise in industries of innovation like FinTech & IoT have an impact on the gap between emerging & developing countries
- With the world being better connected, this gives rise to a need to protect our data. How have companies, especially startups developed their products to combat such matters?
On the panel addressing such issues will be:
-
Margaret Ondeng, Software Engineer at Inmobia Mobile Technology
- Bright Gameli, Head of Information & Risk at Cellulant Group
- Moses Okemwa, Lead Technical Mentor at Moringa School
- Clarence Alucho, Product Development Engineer at BRCK
Above all, we will leave time at the end for questions and a great networking session as it is the tradition at the place entrepreneurs call home.
