The Entrepreneurship Digi-connect workshop is part of the Jill Cannon Associates’ “Education to Employment” pilot project in East Africa aimed at improving the economic standing youths in the bottom 40% to share in the buildup of their economies, and reduce the unemployment rate.
The event is free of charge but make sure you register on Eventbrite.

The event will offer four parallel activities:
1. A youth’s policy brokerage session;
2. An interactive exhibition;
3. Networking Hall; and
4. Startup Kenya Forum
The workshop provides a basis for establishing long-lasting productive partnerships and relationships between the youths in the country and their professional counterparts, fostering an exchange of knowledge and mutual understanding of ICT and Entrepreneurship trends and best practices throughout the world.
We call upon all major stakeholders in the ICT and Entrepreneurship sectors to join us in finding ways of intensifying and accelerating the exchange of operational information. Further, we invite you to present your products and services at an exhibition stand, and also to take an active part in the workshop, including the possibility of giving various brief presentations. 1. A youth’s policy brokerage session;

The Youths’ policy brokerage session is a major part of EDW 2016 designed to identify new ways to overcome the already existing hindrances to youths’ employment in Kenya. These have been broadly identified as:
• Critical skills shortage;
• Parallel paradoxes of youths, employers, and education provider
• Problems in choosing what to study; and
• Finding employment
This session will focus on how we can “Innovate, connect and transform” the status on unemployment.

2. An interactive exhibition;

This will be a space whose target audience are academics, SMEs, policy makers, Banks, corporate bodies. The exhibition will also encompass ICT and art elements artwork, Artistic representations and abstract artistic creativity.

During the EDW2016 (Kenya), the interactive exhibition will showcase the best of ICT and digital latest innovations in Kenya. They will be woven around 3 main thematic messages of:
1. Innovate; Focus innovation and creativity;
2. Connect; Focus Kenyan youths and the digital society;
3. Transform; Focus on industry, business, and the digital economy.
3. Networking Hall;

Beyond informal networking, the workshop will offer a formal networking and information session. Attendance to this will help the Kenyan youths create new, lasting and productive links with other participants with concrete and action-oriented implications:
-Meet participants with common or similar topical interests for collaborative relationships;
-Listen to the views, perspectives and ideas of other participants;
-Share own perspectives in particular policy, innovation or opportunity.
4. Startup Kenya Forum

This is dedicated to start-ups and SMEs, innovators, private and public investors, and policy makers. This forum will give participants a unique opportunity to engage in a fruitful dialogue in innovation ICT, entrepreneurship participants in accelerator activities and create close links between innovators, entrepreneurs, to investors.

This is an opportunity for Kenyan entrepreneurs and innovators to:
-Discover a set of services supporting start-ups;
-Create links among the ICT and entrepreneurship constituencies /programs participating in projects on start-ups, entrepreneurs and ICT.
